"Cuddling"

The shroud of snow has fallen to blanket all the earth
The sounds of children playing fill the air with cries of mirth
The chill is present in the air and logs are on the fire
We cuddle here with thoughts sublime, seasoned with desire
The fire is crackling in the stove and radiates a glow
which falls upon that lovely face I've come to know
The conversation we enjoy while sheltered from the cold
entreats such pleasant memories as our past is told
and memories again are made in such times as this
when hearts are made much lighter, beginning with a kiss.

"Valentine Wishes"

The day is today... yesterday is the past
a valentine day is meant only to last
for twenty four hours and just once a year
I hope that today you feel of good cheer

If wishes were horses then I wish you would ride
a majestic white stallion in galloping stride
and come here to visit and talk for a while
so I could gaze in your eyes and watch that sweet smile

destiny has never allowed us to meet
but hope is ever a friend
hope is alive and shall always entreat
til time shall come to an end

 "Gardening"

Sweat pours down my furrowed brow and drips into one eye
I wipe it with a handkerchief and gaze into the sky

The sun is blazing, soft breeze touches my skin
shovel held strong in my hand, boot pushes down and in

The ground turns beneath my foot the smell of sandy loam
It is good to spend this garden day at home

where worries fall behind us and all things are made new
but nothing is more great to me than working here with you

We dig and plant together then cultivate and weed
and play in dirt with our hands and grow the fruit from seed

Poetic inspiration of nature all surrounding
compels these words like nutrients abounding

Emotions come to bloom like a melody
sharing love and laughter in perfect harmony
