Winter's Breath
Winter's Breath

Winter's breath has fallen
over everything I see.
A downy blanket covers all
in white tranquility

Such purity in nature
sustained by winter's chill
observed by any passer by
or past my window sill

Time has stopped its passage
or so to me it seems
captured by this mystery
enchants me like a dream

Mountain Mist
The trees are hidden by the mist
the mountains layer the distant sky
Memories are reminisced
and make me wonder why

Stages of my life behind
monuments of the past
looking back in hopes to find
some truth to hold me fast

But love did not sustain me
when faith withdrew its hand
when clouds fell oh so lightly
over all the land

But is it yesterday I view
or is this of time to be
could in the distance I find you?
Is this the mystery?

Why do I see so dimly
though somewhere it so seems
Your smile entices wondrous thoughts
and sacred, magic dreams

My heart is wakened by your eyes
towards moonlit flights in time
o'er mountain peaks in star filled skies
in ecstacy sublime

And it does make me to surmise
if on the distant shore
could I find through those misty skies
the one that I adore
