"Beacon of Light"

The plagues of life beset us, as storms of open sea
and often winds would set us off our course
In unfamiliar waters, we often lose direction
insecure with fear and much remorse

But you are not alone at sea, in travels near or far
when you have someone to be your friend
A beacon shining from my heart, will cast an amber glow
and guide you to your journey's end

So cast your eyes upon the light, piercing through the sky
and know that you are never quite alone
Love will guide your journey and peace will fill your heart
with greater joy that you have ever known.

"Quiet Meditations"
The poetry on these pages was inspired by the photography submitted by Amy Ryans in the hope it will bring consolation and hope to
sometimes troubled hearts.

Lone Seagull...

She flies alone tonight.  Her course is set
in solidary flight.  She knows this journey will be long, but takes her flight of destiny with song.  She cries upon the waters to every passer by
who hear the call but do not wonder why.  Within the confines of our paths, do we look aside to see the world around us, or in others to confide?  Do we stop to listen to the cry of the lone seagull, or the whipporwill, or the wolves that howl?  Listen to the sounds of  brightest day or darkest night.  Take heed the tiny thread that binds your own life does not become unraveled.  Hear the song of the lone seagull.

"Placid Waters"

Waters glisten softly to the distant shore, where green grass greets them with the softest touch.  Mountains etch jagged patterns against the pastel sky.  Tall pines whisper in the breezes as the deer graze just behind their cover.  Only my eyes view this place of placid waters.  Only my heart shall know its quiet solitude.  This time and space is mine alone... to see and feel and touch.  My thoughts are scattered as the pines.  Reflections of my heart are cast upon these waters.  Memories echo from the present to the past and back again to form new hopes...  dreams...  ambitions.
I am renewed.
