"Serenity"

My heart is still in this one place,
of quiet peace and rest.
Tranquil thoughts console my heart,
with feelings I love best.

My mind is filled with memories,
of happiness and glee;
tempered yet by sadness,
and even misery.

I see the clouds in distant skies,
In view across the plain;
casting shadows, falling,
reminders of the rain.

In every life some rain must fall,
but every garden knows;
when rain is mixed with sunshine,
every flower grows.

"Quiet Meditations"
The poetry on these pages was inspired by the photography submitted by Amy Ryans in the hope it will bring consolation and encouragement to
sometimes troubled hearts.

Life is ever flowing...
Each soul a single droplet
in the constant current
towards eternity

Life is ever churning
yet some (the brave)
would swim upstream

some would shoot the rapids
others find a quiet pool

some stagnate
or bear great burdens
on their brow

Life is ever flowing
to that outward crest
then falling to a quiet pool
of eternal rest.
