Dear Steven:
Thank you for the lovely poetry,  You are truly a deep person. A thinker and a doer. I like that. Someday, I'll share my poetry with you.
Although I did not get to read all of them, what I have read is very good.  I am very stressed out these days and, I am happy to have found your site and your wit!   All the best,
Angelina

I hope you can find some comfort in my words, Angelina and that whatever is stressing you will fade behind you

Hey Steve
I did read the poems and saw your picture.  You had a very interesting life as I could see.  Sounds like your dad was like mine, from the old school of life.  My dad was a brick layer.  I really hate to call items like this poetry because it is something that touches your heart and life.
I can tell they come from your heart and they are more than beautiful they are inspiring.  I copied several of them for my own if that is ok with you because I loved them so much they touched my heart.

What to say
To the blue eyes
Topped with a brush of sandy hair
White frosted smile facing out there
When a man tall as a tree
Who finds away
To exorcise and free
The many memories fluttering daily
The ends of his finger tips
Extensions of his creative canvas mind
Swiping and daubing with flips
Swirling and mixing visions as signs
Ah what to say
When one does sashay
Through another's fields in essence
Of what they have lived each day
I say unto you
Steve...
My visit  meant a lot to me!
Thank you for allowing A stranger such as I to traverse Through your wonderful fantasy time Of here and there now and then I hope someday to call you a friend
The red head in Texas, Ruthana

Dear Steven
As I arose this morning  I decided to take a look at this web page.  Thinking it would take the usual 10 minute scan I followed the morning procedure of bringing in a hot cup of coffee to wake up the senses.  "Nice".....I thought..as I watched the flowers unfold on the page as the computer  grabbed color after color from it's hidden palette. Setting my coffee aside I decided to scroll down a bit and look into this man's heart. The next thing I conciously remember is the shock of cold coffee as I reached over to get a sip. "How long have I sat here?"...I thought as I realized I had been spellbound by words and work of one who has opened himself up so completely to so many who could easily take what they want from him.  It's not often enough that we run across an individual that captures our attention and holds it without us even being aware of it happening.  This I say to you, Steven, after just barely touching the surface of your works on here; I have come across what seems to me as a good novel appearing on a book shelf that is hidden away. Opening it one finds an intriguing source of heart and common knowledge that few choose to obtain and hold on to for a lifetime as you have done. As I would do with with a novel such as this...I will set it aside for now not because of lack of interest...but to be able to savour it slowly like the heat from the cup of coffee I now so desperately need.
Sandra

Sandra you have touched my heart with your words.  You humble me  steven

I find your work interesting. If you would be so kind, please advise when you update.
I found your site through Homestead listings. We have a little
Homestead  thing too.  it's here... www.counterplot.org
Anyway, I just felt you had a real world appreciation of "word play".  A straight forwardness , a  lack of pretension, and that you take
everyday events and make them fun.
I find a lot of personal poetry pages just short of maudlin. You know,
all that , heart, and apart, rampart, and Mozart. Not that I'm against it,
just not my style.
Yeah, I sling a word or two. You can read a few at the site noted
above.  It's often pretty tortured, mostly politics and prose,  and I'm sure as  hell ain't a poet. But I do throw some words at each other on occasion and post what lands as  'Eye Rhymes".
Against my better judgment, I got the domain. So I've been surfing a mess -o- poetry sites , and to tell ya the truth, I might comment on  one in a hundred, so that's about it.
Good Luck   Regards, Doug
from Sidekicks WWW.counterplot.org

I generally do not include contact info in my guest page but I found your site interesting and ntellectually stimulating  Thank you for your comments

Many of your romantic poems are just to hard to choose from.....Magic glasses, Three romantic poems, The dance.....they all are in depth to the inner self.  The eyes hold the strong point in revealing the souls.
The Dance of Life I will pick if asked too.  But not so sure that is all acurate.  I too am a romantic soul.Your poems are so
pronounced in to the depth of our thoughts.  It is exactly like you found the mirror to reflect how we feel.  But in reality it has shown us you too think as we.
Palette of the Heart....again you capture it  all.
Reflections.....another one we all can relate.  But to see it in words
makes it sadder I think!
Zombie Land......your imagination here is awesome. You transitioned it so well.
The River......when I read this my first thought was how nice this would look placed in the middle of the American Flag.....and have it blow in the wind.
The Library.....another all of its own.  Excellent poem and dedication!!!!!
Unwritten pages.......this would get the "inspiration"award.

now for the humor ones.........

Fifty Cents and Alcohol.........great story and better advice!
Alarming....I loved this one.....and so true it is.    I hate to have my dreams disturbed.....my imagination is so good that my dreams reflect that.  Many times I wanted to toss the clock!!!!
Pipeline Man......Nice tribute to your DAD...
Alone in a Crowd....Steve...I am not sure how you captivate it all so
well........but you do.
Kathy  Ft. Smith, AR

Thank you Kathy  Truly you flatter me

It is about time that I signed in.  I visit your site now and then but
always anonymously.  It is time I revealed to you my activity.  I enjoy
your work.  For the first time, I looked at the comments by some who
have also visited your site.  I was delighted that you have touched the
hearts of so many.  I have professionally edited prose and poetry for twelve years.  Your poetry is some of the best I have seen.
Mike from Colorado

Thanks Brother, I edited all the typos in your letter before posting LOL

Hi Steven,
I visited your website and enjoyed your poetry very much.  You have a lot of talent.  I have absolutely no talent for writing poetry but do enjoy reading it.  I am a nurse and have been for years.  Even as a child that is all I ever wanted to be so that is my area of talent.  I think there are just certain things we are born with.Thank you for sending your poem for the day.  I read a lot of your poetry, as much as time would allow.  It was a nice way to spend a quiet afternoon.  I laughed at your clean jokes, hope you add to your collection.  You have a beautiful family.  Your romantic poems are beautiful and the poem about your grandmother was very touching.  I hope my grandchildren remember me with such fondness.  I also enjoyed your spiritual poems very much.
Donna

Very talented response, Donna You should think more about writing

Hello Steve,
I read your poem "He Ain't No Cowboy"  posted on PoetHeart and like your humor and rhyme so I followed your link. Your site is nice but a bit tough to read poems printed on a very dark blue background. If you could lighten it up that would be better.
I'm a poet too, and share your sense of humor. Check out my stuff on PoetHeart under user submissions. I am Patricia Lynn. Let me know what you think. I'd like some day to write a children's picture book in poetic verse, with humor of course. Shel Silverstein of the "Giving Tree" is a great author of kids stuff.     I like your stuff. I'm a rhymer. The poem about  the piddlin' country dog  was hysterical. A tad gross but funny just the same.    Have a nice day!    Patty Lynn

Bear in mind the Piddlin Dog Rex is a guest poem by a close friend who wishes to not be discovered

Cindy

I appreciate the comments you make due to your literary status.  I have little training in writing I just do it because I enjoy it

Dear Mr. Wanna-be Poet
Your writing is simple and ever so unsophisticated.  You would do well to not give up your day job.
Maxwell Thames

Thanks Max but I have been successfully unemployed for 30 years now.  If my boss was not such a nice guy I would have quit a long time ago
